PureBond® Engineered Flooring Technology
Mohawk's manufacturing process features patented Purebond® Technology. Purebond® is a new innovation that replaces urea formaldehyde adhesives traditionally used in the manufacture of composite wood products. Purebond® Technology eliminates formaldehyde emissions associated with UF adhesives. Lower formaldehyde emissions can contribute to better indoor air quality in your home.
Consumer Advantages
PureBond® Technology is now used in the manufacturing of all domestically produced Mohawk engineered hardwoods. With no UF-based adhesives, consumers always get:
- Products with lower formaldehyde emissions that contribute to better indoor air quality compared to traditionally manufactured engineered hardwoods
- Products that satisfy CARB compliance regulations and gain LEED points
- Superior-performance hardwoods that are more eco-friendly
